A 'lighthouse' in terms of affordable timber housing is currently being built in Rotterdam. At 40 meters high, the 12-storey building will be the largest timber construction for affordable housing in the Netherlands. The lightweight construction offered the sustainable option of building on the existing foundations of the previous building. No adhesives are used during construction, which means that the residential building can be dismantled if necessary. Construction of the 82 apartments began in December.
In addition to the proven solid wood products CLT BBS and glulam, binderholz also supplies a wide range of services and specific know-how. For the first time, binderholz flatpack walls are also being used in this project. These highly prefabricated wall components are used as apartment partition walls. Short construction times, simple assembly and a high level of sound insulation are therefore guaranteed.
Affordable housing through affordable components!
