Groundbreaking ceremony at Brixlegg residential complex, Tyrol | Austria

In Brixlegg, Alpenländische Gemeinnützige Wohnbau GmbH – in cooperation with the municipality – is building a residential complex using prefabricated b_solution solid wood elements. The groundbreaking ceremony for the two buildings with a total of 24 flats took place recently. Construction started in March 2022. The handover of the residential building is scheduled for roughly one year from now, in April 2023.

A total of twelve rental flats and twelve rental flats with purchase option will be built in accordance with the Tyrolean Housing Promotion Act, TWFG 1991. For every legal form, four 2-room, five 3-room and three 4-room flats will be realised. All flats come with a terrace or balcony as well as a parking space in the underground car park as well as a basement compartment. In addition, outdoor storage areas for bicycles and a children's playground will be available to the residents.

One of the many advantages of b_solution’s innovative wooden modular construction method is its short construction time. In addition, the wooden façade with its natural appearance also blends in perfectly with the townscape.

The flats are accessed barrier-free via a passenger lift whose lift shaft will also be built using the CLT BBS construction method. In addition, an automatically controlled, regenerative heating system on a low-temperature basis will be used in combination with a central air heat pump and space heating / heat distribution in the flat by means of underfloor heating. Controlled room ventilation in each residential unit ensures a particularly comfortable living ambience. The heating requirement is 28 kWh/m2a. The 24 residential units therefore meet the passive house standard.

DI Markus Lechleitner, the managing director of Alpenländische Gemeinnützige Wohnbau GmbH, is happy with the successful start of construction: "I would like to thank Mayor Puecher and the municipality of Brixlegg for their trust and look forward to further good cooperation. Special thanks also go to our project partners, planners and contractors. Here's to successful construction process!"

"Providing affordable housing is more important than ever, but at the same time we currently face extraordinary challenges. I am very happy and grateful that we are able to realise this project for our community, because that is not a given. I would like to thank Alpenländische Gemeinnützige Wohnbau GmbH for the reliable and good cooperation," Mayor Rudolf Puecher concluded.
